Isla de Rey, Panamá – April 1, 2020
On Wednesday, Women Here and Now (Mujeres Aqui y Ahora) transported by plane 75 bags of food purchased by our organization to be distributed to the most needy of residents of three other villages of the Pearl Islands. Two separate flights were made from the airport at Rio Hato to the airstrip at San Miguel, where MINSA (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Panama) arranged for the transfer of the bags to a boat, in order to deliver the food: 39 bags to residents of La Esmeralda and 11 to the villagers of La Ensenada. A third flight was made to the runway at Pedro González, where 25 bags were delivered to the residents there. Many thanks to the Aeronaval for its participation in the delivery of the food in all villages!
Residents of Pedro Gonzalez gratefully received the emergency food supplies from Women Here and Now.
A total of 39 bags were delivered to the residents of La Esmeralda most in need and who were relieved to receive food.
With joy 11 villagers of La Ensenada received the emergency food bags for their families.
